Brother Alexander Fleming<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0August 6th 1881 \u2013 March 11th 1955<\/span><\/p>\n Member of:<\/p>\n Sancta Maria Lodge No. 2682, London, England<\/p>\n Also Member\u00a0of\u00a0Misericordi Lodge No. 3286, London, England<\/p>\n Junior Grand Warden, United Grand Lodge of England<\/a>: 1942<\/p>\n Recipient of the Distinguished Service Citation of the Grand Lodge of New York<\/p>\n Scottish biologist, pharmacologist and botanist. His best-known discoveries are the enzyme lysozyme in 1923 and the antibiotic substance benzyl-penicillin (Penicillin G) from the mold Penicillium notatum in 1928, for which he shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1945<\/a> with Howard Florey and Ernst Boris Chain.
