Brother Frederick Schwatka<\/strong><\/p>\n September 29, 1849 – November 2, 1892<\/p>\n Member of: Brother Frederick Schwatka was a United States Army lieutenant with degrees in medicine and law and a noted explorer of northern Canada and Alaska.\u00a0Schwatka received the Roquette Arctic Medal from the Geographical Society of Paris, and a medal from the Imperial Geographical Society of Russia.
